ITINERARY DESCRIPTION

8:30 AM: Your adventure begins as your guide picks you up from your hotel in Cusco. We’ll embark on a scenic drive through the majestic mountains toward the Sacred Valley of the Incas, arriving at our private river put in located in Pachar. Upon arrival, you’ll receive all necessary rafting equipment and a comprehensive safety briefing. (Toilet facilities are available here.) As we admire the breathtaking mountain views and archaeological remnants, we’ll head toward Ollantaytambo. Along the way, we’ll tackle exciting class 2-3 rapids, culminating in the thrilling “El Resbaladero” (The Slide), a strong class 3 rapid with waves and small whirlpools. After rafting, we’ll enjoy lunch at our base, Tambo Apumayo, located by the river. The site features bathrooms, showers, and a riverside restaurant with stunning views of La Veronica mountain. This is a wonderful opportunity to savor authentic Andean cuisine while directly supporting community initiatives. Following lunch, we’ll take a short rest before setting off on a 1.5-hour hike to Ollantaytambo. As we pass through Andean terraces still actively farmed by local villagers, we’ll reach a Mirador (viewpoint) that offers a spectacular panorama of the Pakaritampu pyramid and the magnificent Ollantaytambo Inca fortress. You’ll also be treated to stunning vistas of the Urubamba mountain range and the Urubamba River—scenes that few travelers get to experience.
